Alexandra Meissnitzer Shooting in Death Valley
24-Jan-2012, Tuesday
READ IN GERMAN

The story for this shooting starts before Christmas. Alexandra Meissnitzer wanted to create something really special for her partner and sponsor the Harreither GmbH. Not at least they wanted to show with the campaign, that there are easy ways to heat and cool with a good looking solution. Completely without any kind of old looking radiator or air condition where water is turning out or which makes loud noises.

The company Harreither is a compact system provider for living comfort. That means, that they can provide all products for generation their heat and house technic from just one producer. Innovation by their own research and development offers the customers future technology.

With the end of last year it happened that I make the whole commercial photo productions for Harreither with Alexandra as testimonial. After that we had the idea to show that we are taking the old fashion radiators and bring them into the desert. At Christmas we met our friend Alexandra for dinner and together we created this idea and for us it was clear…we have to get off into the Death Valley.

The family Harreither knew that I am for six weeks starting after Christmas in Los Angeles for some new productions, so we decided to bring Alexandra there. We took care about all permits and organized an radiator which we take with us into the desert. You can imagine that this was not really easy, because in the USA radiators a build in a very different way than in Austria. So my assistant Arturo had to pick up the radiator which we chose before and we drove with two cars to Las Vegas, while Alexandra sat in the airplane.

As Alexandra arrived in Las Vegas we started with the production. Nelly made the make-up and then we drove about two hours to the place in the Death Valley which we chose before. Because of a sandstorm came up and it was raining we thought we had to cancel the production and realize it instead on the following day. But as we arrived at the location, the sun came out for about four hours, it was perfect. With the new Hensel Port2 and the sun we had the perfect light, as you can see on the making-of pictures.

Not even a burst tire in the nowhere could decline our euphoria about the great location, the good looking Alexandra, the perfect light and our great team. Also while changing the tire we had a lot of fun!! Back in Las Vegas we had a great dinner before we fell tired in our beds.

Now I am back in Los Angeles for the next productions and Alexandra is flying back to St. Moritz where the next women ski race will take place. The result of the shooting you can see in form of posters and commercial in the spring in whole Austria.

See you soon
Yours Manfred
